JELL is an open access journal. All articles are freely available online immediately upon publication. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, provided that the original work is properly cited and the applicable Creative Commons license is observed.

Authors retain copyright in their published articles. Upon publication in JELL, authors grant the English Language and Literature Association of Korea (ELLAK) the right of first publication and the non-exclusive right to distribute, archive, reproduce, and make the work available online.

Unless otherwise stated, articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial License (CC BY-NC), which permits non-commercial use, distribution, reproduction, and adaptation in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.

Although JELL provides open access to published articles online, print copies and access through KISS or other platforms may be available through subscription or service agreements. Any commercial use or use beyond the scope of the applicable license requires prior permission from ELLAK.
